Private Dining Rooms in Newcastle

A question I often receive through the site and social media is which restaurants in Newcastle have private dining rooms available, and for how many people.

With that in mind, I’ve put together a list of some of the ones which aren’t just big hotels, independent restaurants that have genuine private dining and are worth considering in your search. So whether it’s a celebratory birthday meal for your clan, a business meeting, a wedding party or whatever else, here’s a range of spaces for big tables, from more casual choices to fine(r) dining. I’ll add to this as more become available etc. and I’ve linked where there’s additional content on each.

Hibou Blanc

13 High Bridge, NE1 1UW
Number of private dining rooms: One (The Blanc Room)
Max number of guests: 16 seated, 40 for canapés
Menu cost per person: TBC check with venue on specific requirements

• The Blanc Room is available to hire for a fee depending on the date and time

• There is no charge for room hire, a minimum spend does apply
• Quayside location is great for impressing guests
• Quality cooking, although room is not separate from the main dining room

Babucho

Tyne House, Lower Dean Street, NE1 3JD
Number of private dining rooms: Four (although part of main restaurant)
Max number of guests: 15, 16, 20, up to 70
Menu cost per person: Check with venue

• There is no charge for room hire, a minimum spend does apply
• Options are less PDR and essentially more a range of different seating options
• ‘Cheap and cheerful’ style Italian restaurant
• Great Quayside location for further drinks or entertainment

What to order: menus only available on request but stick with Bolognese, arancini and the like.

Sohe

97 Osborne Rd, Jesmond, NE2 2TJ
Number of private dining rooms: One
Max number of guests: TBC
Menu cost per person: £35 ea for sharing menu

• Bright and modern area just off the main restaurant
• Dedicated events team
• North Jesmond location
• Asian-fusion cooking slightly alternative option for private dining compared to same-y offerings from some of the above

What to order: salt and pepper squid // Malaysian curry // STP with miso caramel

Khai Khai
