Wingstop, Metrocentre
How do you do, fellow kids?
For being such a large area of the North East, Gateshead isn’t the culinary centre of the world, with very few great restaurants (and infamously, an excess of takeaways…).
Let’s not call it NewcastleGateshead…on the Gateshead (NE8) side of the quays, you’ve got SIX at the Baltic, and these days, that’s about it. Träkol, River Beat, and some other great restaurants closed recently, so there’s not much on the South side of the river to challenge Newcastle. Dig deeper and you’re looking at cheap neighbourhood restaurants in places like Dunston, Low Fell, and down towards Washington and Heworth way.
If you know of any other great Gateshead restaurants or places to eat, give me a shout!
