‼️ Do your bit in the great restaurant shutdown of March 2020.
It’s taken me a while to get to this – y’know – own crisis etc. but it’s an important one.
I wrote a little bit about this whole shitshow with my day job hat on here [Coronavirus & Restaurant Marketing] but that was more than a week ago now and the situation is changing day by date. As restaurants are now forcible closed to assist in social distancing (STAY THE FUCK INDOORS) it’s so important that they can quickly pivot and adapt to offer takeaway or something online where possible. I’ve tried to note all of the restaurants I’ve seen over the last 2-3 days who are offering something to deliver, takeaway, or sell online to keep that cashflow going in what must be the most uncertain time for the food & drink industry that I can remember.
I’ve focussed on ‘proper’ restaurants, but if you’re looking for craft beer to get you through the tough times (drink repsonsibly!) Daisy / Craft Beer Newcastle have done a cracking job on giving us the current beer state of play situation in the NE: #BuyLocal on CraftBeerNewcastle.
I’ll have definitely missed some of the great efforts restaurant owners across the NE are going to, whether that’s giving away unwanted food, or just cooking for those most in need. This’ll be unintentionally, I’ve knocked this together incredibly quickly so just gimme a shout and I’ll update accordingly. If you can get a lasagna from Zucchini, or some brownies from Pet Lamb, or any of these other guys, you’re helping them stay open when this all blows over.
