Haveli, Ponteland
Where Madras meets Michelin.
Famous for being one of the richest areas of the North East, but that doesn’t necessarily get you any good restaurants. In Ponteland you’ve got a few restaurants of Main Street, including the lovely Branches, but it’s no paradise. There’s a few nice cafes, but mostly cheap & cheerful Italian and Indian restaurants, meaning the rich & famous will just have to travel to the city centre for their food ?
Where Madras meets Michelin.
Ten out of Eleven.
Update: Well that was short-lived. As of 18/9/14, head chef Glen has left The Blackbird. Shame!
