North Shields

North Shields (NE29) isn’t the culinary centre of the country, but the development of the Fish Quay over the last ten years has proven that some great restaurants can pop up.

There’s always cheap Italians – Shields is the original home of the Sambuca chain, but whether it’s Irvins (sadly nowclosed), The River Cafe, or the fantastic and multilpe-award-winning Staith House, there’s now some quality places to eat in North Shields, and the views of the Tyne aren’t too bad either…
