Part of my goal in doing this was to show that actually, you can eat somewhat OK food, if you try and come up with creative recipes. Well, three days in and I’ve realised you certainly can’t have any creativity at this budget.

Not feeling as hungry as I thought I would now, but I’ll take that as a sign it is going to get much worse as the week goes on. I now appreciate that you can eat on £1/day if needs really be, which makes me wonder how some people struggle putting food on the table. On the other hand, it’s easy to see how fast food is an incredibly easy option to get something that resembles food, for very little cost – a McDonalds 89p hamburger comes to mind, but I think we all know how unfulfilled that leaves you feeling…
Live Below the Line Challenge: Day 1
It is Sunday night. I’ve spent the past few hours trying to work out how I can get “the best bang for my buck”. I am attempting to complete a week of living on £1/day food cost, i.e “Live Below the Line”, in partnership with Oxfam GB.
Recipe: Devilled Black Pudding
I am going to stick my neck out and call this the best satisfying brunch ever.
